I pieced this quilt together during lockdown in early 2020, the composition – which was entirely pieced in an improvisational manner – seemed to just take me away. As challenging as it is to live amidst a pandemic, I found great solace in these colours that instantly swept me away to some expanse of water that I imagined I could gladly float on. I used only salvaged scrap and remnant fabrics to make this one-of-a-kind quilt, and kept the quilting minimal so as to add a hint of depth.
